Toilet Problems
If your toilet clogs, you can normally fix the problem with a plunger. Simply push your plunger into place (make sure the lip is creating suction over the drain) and pump it up and down to push the blockage out of the pipe.
Drains
Household drains often clog due to debris being flushed down the pipes. Consider installing drain traps to keep them clear.
If your drain has already stopped up, you may be able to use a plunger to move the clog. Many hardware stores also sell drain cleaning tools. If you use any products on the drain, please avoid caustic chemicals that could damage the home's pipes.
If you lose electrical power in your rental property, call your utility provider to isolate the problem. There may an issue with your account or a localized outage may be to blame.
If your home doesn't have sufficient hot water access or your tap isn't providing any hot water at all, locate your water heater. Check the settings on the side of the tank to troubleshoot the issue. If your water heater is powered by gas, check that the pilot light is still lit.
If you make any changes to the settings, wait 15 to 20 minutes before testing the water again.
If your climate control system isn't working properly, use the central thermostat in your home to troubleshoot the issue.
If you need immediate attention for a life-threatening situation, call 911. For maintenance problems, call our office.
